Summer Intern/Validation and Automation Engineering

Department Description:

This facility performs secondary vaccines manufacturing processes including: Formulation, Filling, Lyophilization, Visual Inspection, and Leak Detection. As required, these process steps are executed in an aseptic manufacturing environment. Additionally, the facility also produces adjuvants to fulfill a US government contract. The internship will support the Validation and Automation departments.

Job Description:

This position will allow the selected candidate to:

  • Provide support to TS engineering validation and automation process improvements to digitize existing testing requirements and specifications.
  • Participate in departmental project teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in compliance with applicable EHS and GMP regulations, guidelines, policies, GSK standard operating & safety procedures, and industry practice and Industrial Excellence initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a BS (Juniors or Seniors only) or MS in Engineering, Automation, or related disciplines.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 10-12 week internship (May/June - August).
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program in engineering or related field. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Flexibility to shift between different projects depending on department needs.

Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
