This position is located at Cabarrus Youth Development Center
Concord, NC (Cabarrus County)

This is a 12 month position paid on the state teachers’ salary scale plus a 6% supplement.
Work Schedule: 7:30AM-4:00PM

This position provides students with direct instruction in science utilizing the Common Core State Standards and NC Essential Skills.


Job Duties:

Preparing lesson plans, instructional materials, and maintaining student progress reports. 
Utilizing data to inform all instructional activities based on NC Standards
Implementing IEP modifications and keeping all student records.
This position requires the ability to:

Experience observing and communicating observations and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.  

This position serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team to plan for student services and treatment.


This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

The salary grade for this position is ED20.  State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position.  If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.  Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

Experience providing instruction with solid classroom management techniques.    
Experience establishing rapport with and relating to the students served and their families, treatment professionals, and campus staff.  
Experience interpreting the laws that govern programs for students with exceptionalities and apply best practice.  
Experience writing individualized education plans and completing all required paperwork.
