Summer Intern/Therapeutics Oncology

Department Description:

The objective of the Intracellular Target Cancer Therapeutics (ITCT) as part of the GSK – Oncology Research Unit is to develop novel medicines exploiting tumor-selective biology through several therapeutic approaches.

Job Description:

This position will allow the selected candidate to develop an understanding of the drug-development process and contribute to the development of new therapies by exploring the mechanism of action of novel medicines as single agents and in combination with approved therapies. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the assignment.
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of cancer biology
  • Basic understanding of standard molecular biology techniques
  • Previous laboratory experience

Candidates who are hired for an on-site role and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location are eligible for relocation stipend.
