Play Group Leader

Playgroup Leader: Do you love children? Want to help lead the High Rocks Summer Playgroup? As the full-time Play Group Leader, you will create unforgettable experiences for children ages 1-10 this summer. For this position, we are looking for an energetic leader to impart creativity and structured activities for High Rocks' youngest adventurers to discover their best summer yet!

Compensation: $15 – $20/hour, 40 hours/week for nine weeks of summer. Breakfast and lunch are included when camp is in session. This position is based in Hillsboro, WV.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate an engaging, creative, fun, organized, and safe space for students in the playgroup (approximate ages 1-10).
• Create a daily schedule of play and learning activities for approximately 3-10 children per day.
• Hold daily reading time.
• Maximize outdoor play and adventure.
• Provide clear structure, rules, and consequences to ensure safety and stability.
• Maintain daily sign-in and sign-out for students in the playgroup.
• Keep a log of daily activities and any issues that emerge.
• A background check is required since we work with vulnerable populations and Workforce WV. Must be able to pass a drug test.

Minimum qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with childcare, early childhood development, and/or structured play is recommended.
