Entry Level Systems Engineer-Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Entry Level Systems Engineer-Cloud Engineer (AWS). This is NOT a role for someone interested in a career of Software Development.  We are looking for a May 24 Graduate with an interest in Systems Engineering

This roles will not start until June of 2024 as we are ideally looking for a May 24 grad. 

This role is part of the 2024 Technology Graduate Program. 

 

Qualifications Include;

  1. Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Comp Engineering, information technology, or a related field.  certifications in lieu of a degree.
  2. Understanding of Cloud Computing Concepts: Familiarity with cloud computing fundamentals and services, particularly AWS, is essential. This includes knowledge of key AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, and others.
  3. AWS Certifications: While not always mandatory, earning AWS certifications can greatly enhance your credibility and marketability. For entry-level positions, the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certifications are commonly sought after.
  4. Programming and Scripting Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, as well as scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell, is valuable for automating tasks and managing cloud infrastructure.
  5. Networking Knowledge: Understanding networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and VPN is important for configuring and troubleshooting cloud environments.
  6. Operating System Familiarity: Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux and Windows is often required, as many cloud-based applications run on these platforms.
  7. Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze complex problems, troubleshoot issues, and propose effective solutions is crucial for success in this role.
  8. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members, documenting processes, and communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  9. Adaptability and Continuous Learning: The field of cloud computing is rapidly evolving, so candidates should demonstrate a willingness to adapt to new technologies and engage in ongoing learning to stay current.
  10. Internships or Relevant Experience: While not always mandatory for entry-level roles, internships or previous experience in IT support, systems administration, or related fields can provide valuable hands-on experience and increase your competitiveness as a candidate.
