STEM Summer Institute Educator

Looking for educators or those with experience in teaching ACT prep courses in Math, English, Reading, and Science for the CAP & GOWN Project STEM Summer Institute (SI), hosted by the College of Science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). In addition to ACT prep, the institute incorporates trips to local corporations, guest speakers and college visits. These are PAID teaching positions that pay at an approximate rate of $20/hour (exact amount depends on amount of experience with CAP & GOWN/STEM SI).

STEM SI is held June 3-7th and July 8-12th, 2024, from 8:30am-4:30pm

Rising 9 & 10th graders take classes in each of the 4 ACT sections, foundational classes meant to ease their transition to high-school, and participate in a hands-on group project.

Rising 11 & 12th graders take classes in each of the 4 ACT sections in the morning, and complete classes in college preparation, financial literacy, and have study time in the afternoon.

All teachers will get a "planning" time during the day and are expected to stay through the afternoon to facilitate programming, though you will not necessarily be "teaching" during this time. Teachers are the leaders of this program and we'd love to have you as involved as you are able to be.
