Intern, Workforce Analytics

Position Summary: 

The Human Resources department is seeking an intern to join the team for summer 2024. This position provides a fantastic opportunity to join the workforce analytics team and participate in activities such as employee engagement survey data analysis, as well as presentation of insights and suggestions based on analysis of HR data. This internship provides an outstanding opportunity to engage in the corporate environment while working across multiple global industries. This is a paid position and will work on site at Dover’s Corporate Headquarters in Downers Grove, IL. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Extract and analyze HR data to identify insights needed to support HR functions and initiatives such as data configuration for data analysis and surveys.
  • Audit HR system(s) to troubleshoot and identify solutions and recommendations to ensure data integrity related to all areas of the Workforce Planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate successfully with the WFA team and OpCo stakeholders across the organization on survey requirements.
  • Maintain and manage the security matrix and adhere to governance principles.
  • Propose suggestions/approaches for improvements, develop proposals, perform research, and analyze data.
  • Train and enable end users, by developing workflows, documentation, and training guides.
  • Create a final internship PowerPoint presentation to share with department leadership covering the internship experience, the assigned project over the course of the summer, including the results along with any solutions or recommendations that can be leveraged by the department in the future

 

Qualifications / Requirements/Desired Characteristics:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate in Business, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a quantitative major (e.g., mathematical finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science) with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Ability to work full time on site at our corporate headquarters in Downers Grove, IL.
  • Effective communication, analytical, decision-making, and critical problem-solving skills.
  • Coursework or academic projects related to BI or data analytics, AI, Automation, or Application Development.
  • Practical, developed PC skills, especially Office 365 and virtual team collaboration tools (MS Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to quickly learn new concepts adjust to changing priorities/requirements and support multiple projects.
  • Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and an ability to grasp new and unfamiliar concepts
  • Experience in data visualization techniques (preferably PowerBI) and familiarity with object-oriented programming design (preferably Python, SQL, R), and working with large datasets in Excel.
  • Experience working with survey concepts and analysis (preferably Qualtrics).
  • Hardworking and enthusiastic with the ability to responsibly handle confidential HR data and maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
  • Experience with machine learning/AI is a plus.
