Research Associate

Research Associate - Labor & Employment Practice

Responsible for working with members of the Labor & Employment Practice and assisting with designing, conducting, and communicating complex economic analyses. Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills are essential.

Candidates who meet preferred qualifications will be considered for a Senior Research Associate position.

This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation and benefits.

 

Duties include:

  • Keeping abreast of trends and advances in labor and employment economics and law, including periodically conducting labor literature searches and case law research.
  • Assisting with the management of documents and data received from clients, including initial vetting and exploration of large complex employment datasets (HR, Payroll, Timekeeping, Recruiting).
  • Working with a data scientist on the construction of analytical datasets and reviewing datasets for quality control.
  • Conducting econometric analyses using Stata and other software programs.
  • Assisting in the preparation of emails, memoranda, reports, and presentations, including written descriptions and visual presentations of analyses and results.
  • Communicating with clients as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with significant emphasis on econometrics and microeconomic theory.
  • 1 year of related experience (including internships or research assistant roles requiring analysis, writing, and research).
  • Proficiency in Stata and other standard econometric/statistical software packages, including programming of macros and loops.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to create documents, presentations, tables, and graphs; familiarity with Tableau preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in the office in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Economics with significant emphasis on econometrics and microeconomic theory.
  • 2 years of related experience.
