Associate, Custom Solutions

This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office. 

The associate, custom solutions, will partner with senior members of the custom solutions team to develop separate account programs at the Firm. This is a quantitative business development role with high visibility across investment, investor relations, Quantitative Investment Science (“QIS”), client service and executive management teams. The associate is expected to connect with internal groups at the Firm including Accounting, Client Experience, Marketing, Sales Enablement and Portfolio Analytics to capture relevant data points. The associate is expected to connect with each account team to develop a portfolio forecasting model, projecting capital calls, distributions, and net asset value development. The role will require the individual to contribute to competitor research and analysis and internal maintenance of relevant system information pertaining to existing and prospective clients. The associate will be involved with separate account programs from the initial request for proposal stages through the ultimate close of new business, growing firm assets under management.

What you will do: 

  • Provide financial analysis to support the development of short- and long-term separate account initiatives and opportunities
  • Preparation and development of proprietary financial models, reports, and presentations for all levels of management, including senior-level management.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop fee models and product materials for new market segments for the firm including primary partnership portfolio, secondary transactions, and co-investments.
  • Build model portfolios with senior members of Custom Solutions team, including portfolio construction recommendations in consideration of diversification objectives, investment guidelines, return projections and the long-term performance impact.
  • Conduct extensive due diligence, research, evaluation, and analysis concerning business development opportunities for HarbourVest’s separately managed accounts.
  • Participate in client engagements where appropriate.
  • And other responsibilities as required

What you bring: 

  • Understanding of private equity with the ability to create thoughtful analysis and deliverables.
  • Experience with report, dashboard, and other analytical tool design, creation, and maintenance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MicroStrategy

Education Preferred

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 3-5 Years of proven experience preferred
