We have an exciting new opportunity and invite applications for the full-time remote position of Workforce Data Analyst. We are seeking a dynamic, well-rounded data professional to work under limited supervision, spearheading moderately complex projects and analytical processes. Reporting to the Director of Workforce Analytics, your responsibilities will span a broad range of business intelligence and data analytics activities that enable delivery of actionable insights and inform the School of Medicine’s workforce strategies.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Develop and iterate on business intelligence queries, reports, dashboards, scorecards, storyboards, continuous monitoring (thresholds), and KPIs/metrics. Clean and transform data using efficient and automated processes as required to ensure accuracy, consistency and suitability for analysis.
- Partner with the Technology & Digital Solutions business intelligence team on data collection and acquiring data from disparate source systems across the University.
- Originate and coordinate data governance/stewardship assignments as well as document processes.
- Use reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and eliminate root cause for a range of complex data problems (e.g.: input errors or inadequate field edits), and recommend possible solutions and communicate their organizational impact.
- Monitor trends in workforce data, test hypotheses and create actionable insights using various analytical methods.
- Complete ad hoc requests to address specific questions that support the HRG and SoM strategic priorities.
- Develop engaging presentations and communicate results to stakeholders using storytelling techniques.
- Participate in user acceptance testing of workforce analytics dashboards and tools, upgrades, enhancements and change requests to improve user experience. Plan, conduct and document results of testing.
- Test new vendor software tools and participate in the approval and release process.
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams (i.e. human resources, finance, data governance, IT, analytics, business intelligence, data engineering…etc.) to deliver workforce analytical solutions.
- Manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Conduct training with stakeholders on various workforce analytics tools; support data literacy improvement efforts.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline (Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Computer Science, MBA, Information Systems, Biology, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or similar area) is preferred.
- Analytical thinking capabilities in any of the following Human Resources topic areas, e.g. JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion), learning and development, org design and effectiveness, employee labor and relations, talent acquisition, total rewards, and employee listening.
- Experience using HR technology (Oracle Fusion HCM, SuccessFactors, Workday) is a plus.
- Experience using SQL, Python, R, Tableau Prep, PowerQuery or similar tools to query and transform data.
- Strong Tableau developer skills, including parameters, dynamic design, level of detail calculations and row level security.
- Experience leading or coordinating data governance and stewardship activities as well as documenting processes.
- Strong presentation/storytelling skills and excellent customer service focus.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with all levels of the organization.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics or engineering
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
- Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes and workflow.
- Ability to understand and apply the software development lifecycle and project management techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to review business processes and translate into BI reporting and analysis solutions.
- Experience in data analysis and root cause analysis and developing problem solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability with enterprise application and database driven applications.
- Experience with relational and dimensional logical data modeling.
- In-depth knowledge of and ability using MS Office; analytical and business intelligence programs such as OBIEE, business objects, Informatica, Tableau, Matlab, SAS, R, SPSS etc..
- Extensive background and experience with report and analysis design and application of User Interface and User Experience best practices.
- Strong writing and analytical skills.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
The expected pay range for this position is $85,000 to $147,000 per annum.
