Direct Support Professional

Emmaus Inc., a non-profit in Haverhill, MA, is seeking a Second Shift Direct Support Professional to become part of our hard-working, solutions-driven team. Make a difference the lives of homeless families, helping them rebuild their lives and reach their fullest potential.

Direct Support staff are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well functioning environment for the parents and children staying at the congregate and scattered site shelter. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day operation of our family shelter: welcome new families, volunteers, and donors into the shelter, linking guests to community resources; assist with meal preparations and clean up, conduct weekly room inspections and nightly rounds, and monitoring/addressing safety concerns.

We are looking for an energetic, supportive and committed individual to fill the role of Direct Support Professional in Emmaus’ family shelter.

Emmaus is willing to provide training and support to help the right person to grow into the job.

Requirements of the Direct Support Professional:

  • MUST be able to work 3pm-11pm shift, Sunday through Thursday
  • MUST have valid driver’s license
  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Detailed oriented with strong follow through
  • Solid writing and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to pass CORI and driving records check.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
