Summer Camp Program Specialists

Position Summary:

Camp James is currently seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our team as Program Specialists for the upcoming summer season. Program Specialists play a pivotal role in delivering specialized programs and activities to our campers, fostering sportsmanship, creativity, cooperation, respect, and friendship.

 

Job Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead specialized activities, engaging campers in unique experiences tailored to their interests and passions
  • Plan weekly activities, sometimes based on themed weeks, ensuring a diverse and engaging program for all campers
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where campers can learn, grow, and have fun
  • Prioritize the safety and supervision of campers during their activities, following established protocols and ensuring adherence to safety guidelines
  • Maintain open and effective communication with campers, fellow staff members, and camp leadership, fostering collaboration and teamwork

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must commit to 6-10 weeks of camp, operating Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, between June 10th and August 16th
  • CPR/AED certification is a prerequisite for this position. Previous experience working with children is preferred
  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old
  • Ability to work outdoors in the sun all day and swim in deep, cold ocean water
