Proposal Specialist

Job Summary:

The Proposal Specialist is responsible for developing smart and persuasive proposals, Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions, security assessments, contract administration drafting, and sales supporting materials for our sales team to deliver to existing and prospective clients. This fast-paced role involves writing and applying new or standardized content independently and collaborating with discipline leaders in the agency. The individual fulfilling this role will be a talented writer, team contributor, problem solver and high performing task master with the ability to thrive under established deadlines. Work requires managing multiple projects at once with contributions critical to our success.  

Responsibilities:

  • Understand client business goals and strategic imperatives to help guide proposal-based activity
  • Work with discipline leads to develop new content responding to specific RFP questions
  • Coordinate with discipline leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver smart & savvy proposals and pitches with flawless execution
  • Draft, proof, and edit customer-facing materials in MS Word, Excel, PPT, and/or InDesign
  • Capture and re-purpose content from customer submissions for future endeavors
  • Maintain a customer service mentality to customer deliverables and drive sales effectiveness within the business through quality content and consultative business value

Education:

  • Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred

Experience and Training:

  • Preferred three (3) years of relevant industry experience
  • Possess expertise in technical writing or proposal writing, communications and technology
  • Able to translate and communicate complex ideas quickly and clearly
  • Problem-solve and move multiple, time-sensitive projects forward with little oversight
  • Communicate and be accessible to a global sales team and collaborate with staff at all levels of the organization
  • Motivated to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, entrepreneurial environment

Technical Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Experience in Salesforce.com or other CRM experience a plus
  • Proposal management software and SharePoint user experience a plus
