Intern, Cyber Security

Job Overview: 

The Cyber Security Specialist intern will be primarily responsible for the successful build-out of our security compliance portal. Using an established framework and controls, the successful candidate will map our existing IT controls to the associated evidence available, identifying recommendations for any gaps that are identified and help to build a remediation plan, as well as identify owners for the remediations. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about technology, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance and who are interested in learning how they apply to an organization.

Job Responsibilities: 

The primary focus will be on building out our new compliance tool. Additionally, the appointed intern will have the opportunity to learn different areas of security (various controls, vulnerability management, incident response, etc.) to get a broad overview of how corporate security functions. Lastly, the intern will assist in the preparation of internal audits that will take place in the Fall of 2024. 

Job Requirements: 

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a security-related field from an accredited university. 
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, IT systems, and network infrastructure. 
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards relevant to the industry. 
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex compliance and security concepts to a non-technical audience. 
• Collaborative team player with a proactive approach. 
• A willingness to learn and a strong curiosity.
