Staff Accountant

Celldex is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a valuable member of the accounting team for a dynamic and growing organization. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various areas in our month-end close process and will be involved in day-to-day accounting activities.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Close: Assist with monthly close process, quarterly reviews, audits, control testing and annual proxy support. Responsible for preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations related to various asset and liability balance sheet accounts. Assist in preparation and distribution of supporting schedules and financial reports.
  • Project Time Reporting: Maintain project, employee, labor categories and cost category data in the Company’s project time reporting software. Prepare reports for billable projects and to support the financial close.  Work closely with Project Mangers to manage accuracy of effort charged to projects.  Assist employees with navigating the time reporting software and ensure timely project timesheet submission.
  • Equity: Assist in issuance, processing, and accounting for employee stock options. Assist in valuation of stock options and accounting for stock compensation expense.
  • Special Projects: Assist finance team members in various ad hoc projects. Identify, propose and implement continuous improvements to drive process efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 0-3 years’ of experience
  • Great Plains, Unanet and Equity Edge experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
