Job Overview: 

The BI and Analytics Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the VP of Process Optimization and Technology Adoption, focusing on enhancing IT operational excellence through the automation of manual data processes. They will be tasked with migrating these processes into sophisticated, automated visual dashboards using Power BI, RedShift Analytics, and QuickSight. This involves gathering and documenting requirements, analyzing data, and creating comprehensive process diagrams. By synthesizing information from disparate data sources into cohesive dashboards, they will provide valuable insights that assist IT Leadership in achieving time-sensitive objectives. This role underscores the organization's commitment to leveraging advanced analytics tools to streamline operations and support data-driven decision-making.

Job Responsibilities: 

The BI and Analytics Intern will engage closely with defined business areas to transform current manual reporting processes into dynamic, automated dashboards utilizing Power BI, RedShift Analytics, and QuickSight. The intern's initial focus will be on comprehending the data sources and their interrelationships, establishing a solid understanding of the existing data visualization practices. This foundational knowledge will pave the way for subsequent tasks, which involve collaborating with stakeholders to pinpoint the precise business intelligence required on the dashboards. They will identify the relevant data sources, understand how to amalgamate these sources effectively, and develop dashboards that accurately reflect the information needs of stakeholders.  

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program from an accredited university. 
  • Excellent communication and organization skills. 
  • Self-discipline and ability to complete tasks without constant oversight. 
  • Passion for quality, process improvement, and learning new skills. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel required. 
  • Experience with Power BI required. 
  • Experience with data analysis. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Word. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams. 
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint. 
  • Understanding of requirements gathering. 
  • Understanding of creating and reading process diagrams.
