Program Director (NOWA)

Overview

Salary: $65,000

The Program Director of NOWA provides program oversight, responsibility for the program budget, coaching and recruitment of potential staff, interns, and peer volunteers in conjunction of other program staff. The PD will represent the RSC in the geographical community by networking with community organizations, providing public relation activities, fundraising, writing of reports and grants and sustainability of the RSC. This position will work with the Area Site Director and act as the liaison between the program and agency administration ensuring a peer participatory model.

Minimum Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Responsible for support of members and families in the program with varying developmental stages, inclusive of all ethnic backgrounds, religions, sexual orientation, genders, and ages.
  •  Ensure that programing reflects a strengths-based approach.
  •  Ensure members and family voice and choice is implemented in service delivery.
  • Assist staff, families and community in understanding the scope and services provided by the program.
  •  Ensure compliance with agency-wide Human Rights and Responsibilities for staff and individuals and families.

Administrative and Programmatic

  •  Ensure program development and enhancement of service delivery in providing the 4 types of recovery support.
  •  Participate in agency wide meetings, representing program team.
  •  Assure all program systems are operating effectively and all contract requirements as stipulated in any contract are met.
  •  Ensure program functions in a peer participatory model.
  • Provide monitoring of physical plant upkeep, maintenance, utility use, and aesthetics for the site.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reports and all other necessary forms to be submitted on a timely basis to the appropriate agency supervisor or department.
  • Attend DPH BSAS meetings as appropriate
  • Write (and support other writers) RFRs and Grants when needed.
  • Assure the implementation and compliance of all agency policy.

Community and Vendor Relationships

  • Assure community visibility of program services through community events.
  •  Ensure marketing materials are current and being used.
  •  Assist members is community events that are appropriate to the program
  • Increase referral sources for current services (marketing).
  • Develop community relationships with external providers and State systems.
  • Maintain community committee memberships, such as with local task forces, Boards, Coalitions, etc.
  •  Act as a liaison to all providers involved in the provision of services

Fiscal

  •  Maintain budget in conjunction with Area Site Director, Division Director and CFO.
  •  Monitor program fiscal expenditures to assure budgetary compliance.
  • Ensure that budgets are on target and fiscal goals are being met— achieve revenue targets; actual vs. budgeted must be the same or better.  
  • Assure timely and accurate submission of all billing related documentation.

Quality

  •  Responsible for CQI initiatives for the program to include program evaluation and satisfaction surveys.
  •  Review and comment on all critical incidents and then scan (with comments added) to the Division Director of Behavioral Health or designee
  • Ensure compliance of all relevant licenses and contractual requirements, such as Rehab Option Standards, DEEC, and DPH (as applicable)
  • Maintain member and community Program Evaluation / Satisfaction Survey spreadsheet as it relates to the RSC.
  • Maintain license(s) needed for program.  

Staff/ Human Resources/ Staff Development

  • Responsible for recruitment of staff/interns/volunteers.
  •  Coach staff/interns/volunteers directly, carrying out responsibilities in accordance with the agency’s policies and applicable laws.
  •  Provide team development opportunities and initiatives.
  • Provide program orientation to new staff, members, volunteers, and interns.
  •  Assist agency staff members and volunteers through individual and group coaching and improving their advocacy and helping skills.
  • Ensure First Aid & CPR and other generic trainings for staff are completed with collaboration with Area Site Director.
  •  Assure timely and accurate submission of all employee / HR documentation.
  • Responsible, in conjunction with Area Site Director and HR Department for hiring, or other disciplinary action of staff as appropriate or requested.
  • Ensure completion of annual performance evaluations of staff
  • Ensure that hire and term packets are complete.
  • Assure that all staff has access to new and existing agency policy and procedures.

 

Qualifications

  • At a minimum completed the BSAS approved Recovery Coach training program (such as the Recovery Coach Academy) within one year of hire. Preferred completion of BSAS Recovery Coaching Supervisor training.
  • 2 years’ experience providing direct care services. An additional 1 year experience in a leadership coaching or supervisory role. Family Continuity considers lived experience including those in recovery as requires a minimum of 24 months recovery for this position.
  • Certification as a BSAS approved Recovery Coach or completion within one year of hire. Current driver’s license, reliable transportation to and from many meetings, sites and appointments.  Must be able to travel within a community. Must have access to personal cell phone. Must become First Aid/ CPR certified if not currently certified. Must become trained in the use and administration of Narcan
