Fundraising Intern

She's the First is seeking a part-time (20 hour/week), U.S.-based Fundraising Intern for the Summer 2024. This position will work closely with the Development team to implement a year-end fundraising strategy. The Fundraising Intern will learn about data-driven fundraising, play a key role in our digital fundraising efforts, and support the donation acknowledgment and stewardship process. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in non-profit work and is eager to gain experience in the girls’ rights, girls’ education, or gender equity spaces. The Fundraising intern will report to the Development Manager.

Essential Qualities:

We are looking for a candidate that has the following:

  • Commitment to anti-oppression and willingness to actively contribute to the creation of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture for our global staff.
  • Availability to work part-time (maximum 20 hours/week) during your semester. This is a remote internship! Work hours must be compatible within the hours of 9AM-6PM ET (i.e., West Coast hours could be 8AM-3PM PT or 11AM-6PM ET).
  • Demonstrated interest in girls’ or women’s rights.
  • Willingness to be a team player: no task is too small for you; no project too big.
  • Superb organizational and time management skills
  • Focuses on goals and tasks at hand while also able to think big, long-term, and multitask.
  • Shows the discipline and the drive to thrive in an entrepreneurial, remote environment.
  • Keeps projects on track with effective to-do lists and deadlines. Always follows up.
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Has excellent Google Apps, email and social media skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with digital fundraising campaigns, doing research and pulling data
  • Supporting STF’s fundraising efforts for our key advocacy day - International Day of the Girl
  • Tracking the success of campaigns and online fundraisers
  • Helping to edit and design The Girl Gazette, a bi-annual newsletter written by girls for girls as part of their own advocacy efforts.
  • Updating our contact database as needed
  • Compiling and archiving successful content campaign posts for future reference
  • Providing logistical and administrative support to the team as needed

This is a fully remote 15-week internship, starting in May and running to August.
