Privacy Engineering Intern

Let's Talk About Responsibilities:
As a Privacy Engineering Intern, you will work directly with talented individuals of all levels. With guidance from a departmental leader, you will support work on our Privacy Engineering initiative by working with Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs), focus on developing privacy safeguards for our product teams, identifying privacy risks in infrastructure, recommending remediation options.
The right candidate for our internship will be expected to know commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the (Computer Science and Law) process and rely on mentorship, instructions, and pre-established guidelines to perform the job's functions.
This is preferred to be on-site role located at our ResMed headquarters in San Diego, California.
Candidates will be asked to be available to participate in on-site and remote team meetings.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Ability to work full-time for 12 weeks during Summer 2024; program dates are May 20, 2023 – August 9, 2024, OR June 17, 2024 – September 6, 2024
Computer science and law academic studies that will lead to a bachelor's or master's Degree Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field
Having Security or IT support skills would be an advantage
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Interest in protecting the privacy of customers.
Understanding of technical concepts and translating it to digestible information for product teams and business line leaders.
Familiarity with Cloud systems (AWS/Azure/GCP etc)
Willingness to solve the problems of tomorrow.
Understanding of technical privacy vulnerabilities and risks associated with them.
Understating of system architecture.
Understanding of APIs and how systems communicate.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong experiences as demonstrated through projects, research or Privacy internships
Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations
Exceptional communication skills and interest and enthusiasm related to medical technology industry and a career with ResMed
Can work independently with distant management, stakeholder and team support
Pay Range:
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary bases pay range: Hourly Rate (estimated) $31.00-36.00/hr
