Junior Strategy Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY:     

IPG’s first and only consulting led business, Black Glass is an agile marketing consultancy, delivering practical, easy to implement strategic guidance that will have rapid, evident, effective and efficient impact on companies, their brands, and customers. Powered by the world’s largest source of customer data, we turn consumer needs into commercial outcomes, through a process we call Radical ClarityTM that works at the speed of the consumer to increase growth, reduce costs, and actualize results.

Our process includes using data from IPG’s data hub Acxiom and other sources and using financial modeling to develop frameworks with accuracy and practicality for every stage of goals and growth.

We are seeking a highly organized and adaptable individual to join our team as a junior consultant and accelerant to our powerhouse team. This unique role combines the responsibilities of a junior-level “Chief of Staff” with the responsibilities of an early career consultant. As this individual and business grows, it will move into a 100% client facing role.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to extend your capabilities in a formal Marketing Strategy role in a dynamic learning environment. We are a small team, and this individual would be a critical hire to enable four senior leaders. This role has direct access to all clients, projects and leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Project Management:

  • Assist in coordinating and tracking various marketing projects, ensuring deadlines are met and project objectives are achieved.
  • Act as a project manager for multiple projects concurrently, including both internal, business related projects and external-facing, consulting engagements.

Client Communication:

  • Serve as a point of contact for C-level and VP-level clients, facilitating effective communication and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Facilitate stakeholder interviews with senior clients.

Strategy & Insights Development:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses from a wide variety of input sources, including but not limited to strategy decks and presentations, agency scope files, financial statements, client surveys, stakeholder interviews.
  • Distill analyses into engaging and client-ready insights. Prepare exceptionally-designed presentations and reports for client meetings. Assist in managing and organizing marketing data, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is readily available for analysis and decision-making.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the team, including managing calendars, making travel arrangements, submitting and managing expenses and owning correspondence for senior leaders.
  • Schedule and organize meetings, both internally and with clients, and compile necessary materials for effective discussions.
  • Support ad-hoc team operations needs and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2+ years of marketing experience at an agency, Fortune 500 company, or consultancy, especially within the travel or financial services industry.
  • Deep passion and a strong business sense.
  • Understanding of marketing concepts and an interest in the field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be a storyteller, visually and verbally.
  • Strong executive presence.
  • Proficient in Google suite: Calendar, Docs and Drive.
  • Proficient in light data analysis.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Business degree, marketing internships preferred.

NYC SALARY RANGE:

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualification
