Post-Production Intern

Position Summary:

OceanX is seeking an Intern with a strong knowledge of post-production to assist our team. Working under our Head of Post-production and alongside our post team, you will gain a better understanding of post workflows, as well as the creative process, that bring our unique imagery to life for audiences around the world. Our constantly growing library of stunning nature footage needs ongoing cataloguing and organization and, once logged, you will have an opportunity to work with the material by generating short videos for our social channels and website. During this promise you will learn how post-production integrates with the Editorial and Social facets of the Media pillar. 

You will also have a chance to learn about the systems and technology we employ to archive, manage and distribute our unique content both internally and to clients and partners around the world. It is a wonderful opportunity for an exceptional student or recent graduate to gain access to world-class filmmaking while producing genuine results to show for your work. Additional tasks will be assigned to refine your talents and develop new skills within post-production, including light sound mixing, color correction, and graphics creation. This is a paid internship, and we are looking for somebody who can work approximately 40 hours per week. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

Professional Experience:
•    Able to assist with equipment inventory, data entry, logging video and photo metadata, and other possible pre/post-production tasks.
•    Open to completing other administrative or general office tasks as needed. 
•    General knowledge of camera and production equipment.
•    Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere required. Further Adobe Suite knowledge and Avid experience a plus.
•    A basic understanding of digital post-production workflows with some editing experience a plus.
•    Preference for current undergraduate students or recent graduates, with specialization in Film/Video/Communications

•    Self-starter with a strong work ethic, ability to take direction and follow instruction. Have a positive attitude and be a team player. 
•    Bonus: Interest in underwater shooting, passion for the ocean. 


Compensation
Compensation for the role consists of a $20/hour wage. This position is eligible for statutory benefits only.
