Department Description:

The Manufacturing Science and Technology Department at GSK Zebulon site is responsible for process monitoring, control, and continuous improvement projects for Oral Solid Dose (OSD), Metered Dose Inhalers (MDI), as well as Multi Dose Powders (MDPI) for inhalation products. Products include, but are not limited to: Advair, Flovent, Relenza, Anoro, Breo, Dovato, Triumeq, Lamictal, and Wellbutrin.

GSK’s Zebulon site is a global supplier of Respiratory and Solid Dose medicines to patients around the globe and the largest Pharmaceutical secondary manufacturing site in North America. The site is located less than 30 minutes from downtown Raleigh, Wendell, Knightdale, Rocky Mount and Wake Forest. Job Description:

Under the guidance of the MDPI Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) Team Lead, we are seeking a 10–12-week full-time co-op to work with the Zebulon MSAT team supporting Process Engineering activities within the MDPI product manufacturing areas. This co-op position will support the MSAT and Production teams in daily activities and project work. Typical support would include hands on data collation and analysis, project support to manufacturing, protocol and report writing, as well as participation project meetings and other discussion forums.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Science or Engineering degree, or related disciplines.
  • Hands on self-starter; must be able to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 12 week internship.
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a degree program, or minimum work experience within the field of study. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate qualities aligned with our GSK Values and Expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work in industry
  • Familiar with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements
  • Familiar with the use of statistics
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point a must)

Benefits:

  • While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
