Advancement/Development Intern

The Advancement Department internship offers students an excellent opportunity to learn about advancement activities including grant-writing, research, and fund raising. The focus of these efforts will be on seniors, immigrants and refugees, children/young adults separated from their families of origin, and workforce issues. The responsibilities, qualifications and application requirements can be found below.

Who are we?

Ascentria Care Alliance is a nonprofit organization operating in five New England states, that has spent the past 150 years helping people in need. We empower people of all backgrounds to rise together and reach beyond life’s challenges by building stronger communities and helping people move forward together.  

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on available public/private grants
  • Work in close collaboration with the Advancement Team.
  • Draft content on relevant grants
  • Help plan and implement fundraising events
  • Participate in projects and tasks as needed

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Currently attending a 4-year undergraduate program, graduated within 3 months or working towards a master’s degree in a field related to the internship
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in nonprofit work and/or writing experience but not required.
