Maintenance Instructor - Apprentice Program

Position Summary

As a Maintenance Instructor for the Apprentice Program, you will work with our Aviation Training Team to help provide aviation maintenance instruction to trainees as they prepare for overseas service. You will work with the aviation team to provide gap training and instruct trainees on JAARS standard maintenance requirements.  This position will report directly to the JAARS Maintenance Instructor Lead.

Position Responsibilities

  • Complete Maintenance Instructor (MxI) Standardization training (Initial and annual standardization courses)
  • Meet regularly with the Maintenance Instructor Lead to discuss relevant training issues
  • Develop and prepare course outlines, study materials, and instructional procedures for mechanics
  • Perform classroom and live instruction on various core and type specific aircraft courses
  • Develop and administer technical training in one/one and small group settings
  • Perform maintenance instruction using approved curriculum 
  • Conduct thorough debriefs including the KSA assessments

Education and Experience:

  • Mission field experience maintaining high performance aircraft desired
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic certification
  • IA preferred
  • Prior instructional experience preferred 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for up to 4 hours at a time
