Summer Intern/Business Operations

Department Description:

This role works directly with Strategy, Operations and/or Training and key stakeholders (e.g.  Marketing, Sales, Finance, HR, Compliance, Legal and similar Operational roles across functions) to drive consistent, connected and impactful business operations activities with operational excellence at their heart. 

Job Description:

This role will be responsible for completing assigned projects aligned to Strategy, Operations and/or Training team. Communicating KPIs/metrics (tracking execution), to enable timely execution and visibility to the progress towards weekly/monthly/quarterly performance. The Intern will support with planning and facilitating meetings with key stakeholders on project deliverables to align on vision, strategy, performance, gain insights, collate and communicate functional teammate insights.

You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Provide strong operational and strategic support to the Strategy, Operations and/or Training team for the delivery of any key initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships and good communication across functional areas to ensure expectations are understood and implemented.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a Scientific or Business discipline.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 12 week internship.
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills (project management)
  • Previous experience in Sales, Marketing, Operations and Training
  • Experience leading change
  • Mastery of project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, planning, and business acumen skills
  • Proven ability to interpret customer needs as well as negotiation and influence skills
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate to diverse audiences
  • Ability to produce concise and simple summaries of concepts and solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills
  • Prioritizes well across short and long-term needs, recognizes trade-offs and make necessary adjustments
  • High-level of energy and enthusiasm

Benefits:

  • While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
