Electronics Instructor

Niagara County Community College is excited to announce the launch of our new Electronics Technology Program in the Fall of 2024.  We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Electronics Instructor to join our faculty and contribute to the success of our new Electronics Technology Program. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and a solid background in electrical engineering or a related field, with a focus on PLC programming and hands-on electronics and manufacturing experience.
 

Full-time instructor in Electronics Technology. The Electronics Technology program and department are housed in the Business and STEM Division. The instructor will be responsible for program coordination, student advisement, assessment of learning outcomes, participation in divisional and college activities, and all required duties as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. The typical teaching load is 15 lecture hours or 18 lecture/lab hours per semester, which will be comprised of both face-to-face instruction on campus and, once necessary training is completed, online modalities. In addition, the instructor will be responsible for attending regular office hours, meetings on campus, and participating in committees. Teaching assignments may be during day, evening, or weekend hours.  Classes are held on the NCCC’s main campus in Sanborn, NY.  

Lectures are typically three or four contact hours per week per course and labs are typically three contact hours per week per course. Electronics courses currently offered by the department include Principles of Electricity 1 and 2, Digital Systems 1 and 2, Advanced Digital Systems, Instrumentation & Control Systems, and PLC Programming. 


The start date of this position will be late August for the beginning of the Fall 2024 semester, but if the selected candidate is able to work prior to then a stipend will be agreed upon for the work performed in the summer 2024. The successful candidate will only be required to work 162 days per academic year (August – May), and will be provided with a winter break from mid-December to early January, a Spring Break for one week in mid-March, and will work until the Spring semester ends in Mid-May (not required to work in June, July, and most of August).
 

The base salary for this position is $47,785. However, there is the potential for overload and other assignments, such as program coordinator and summer classes which would increase the base salary. There is also a pathway for promotion to higher level salary positions (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor).
