2024 Summer Food, Beverage and Events Intern (Culinary)

The Food, Beverage and Events Intern will be tasked with such as answering and making informative phone calls, scheduling appointments, creating invoices, general office duties, and basic client correspondence. They will be asked to conduct research on new event trends and associated costs, both locally and nationally, as well as compilations of data into reliable working documents for department use.  The position is part of a busy team that produces multiple high-profile events each year along with multiple ancillary events throughout the year. These events may include but are not limited to, public events, staff holiday festivities, and other events.


This Summer internship is onsite and will start May 28,2024, and ends on August 2,2024.

Core Responsibilities

In this role you will/are:

    • Maintains inventory levels and advises supervisor of low inventory items; Assists in receiving items and taking inventory as required.
    • Maintain a clean workspace at all times.
    • Complies with all policies and standards/procedures applicable to the position, including attendance, time, quality control, and other standards.
    • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, using dishwasher or by hand.
    • Maintain Kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition. Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage area.
    • Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
    • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
    • Sweep or scrub floors, clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
    • Stock supplies, such as food, in serving stations, refrigerators, store supplies or goods in kitchens or storage areas.
    • Receive and store supplies or goods in kitchen or storage areas.
    • Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food or supplies.
    • Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks, move equipment, supplies or food to required locations.
    • Assists Line Cooks when needed with line prep (slicing meats, building food items, punching fries, etc…) also help on hot line when restaurant is busy.

Minimum Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous event/hospitality experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Strong customer relations skills.

This summer internship is onsite and will start May 30, 2023, and ends August 8, 2023.
