Project Inspector (TE2)

Seattle, WA – Northwest Region 

$69,035 - $92,896 Annually

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 2 to serve as a Project Inspector in Seattle, WA. This position will assist in the inspection of construction projects and assure compliance with contract plans, specifications, interagency agreements, and environmental permits. This work includes preparing calculations and notes to support and initiate payment to the contractor for completed work, completing daily field reports, taking, and filing project photos documenting construction work and issues, providing clarification of contract requirements to the contractor and subcontractors, and providing answers to their questions. Types of work inspected and documented include hot mix asphalt (HMA) and concrete roadway, sidewalk, traffic control, storm, electrical, foundations, retaining walls, bridge construction, landscape, and utilities. This position is vital to ensuring the contract is followed and recorded properly.

 

The SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program (SR520) and Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Program (AWV) are highly visible, political, controversial, and complex multi-billion-dollar capital construction programs. These are the largest mega programs in WSDOT, consisting of multiple major projects in various phases of development stretching from I-5 to I-405 on SR 520 and through the City of Seattle from the SODO District to South Lake Union on SR 99 and along Alaskan Way on the Seattle waterfront.
