Responsibilities:

  • Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for assigned age group.
  • Manage well-run, organized, responsive learning environment and synchronize the roles of teaching staff to ensure delivery of quality programming.
  • Monitor teacher:child ratio to ensure proper supervision of children.
  • Observe, record, and assess the progress of each child and design activities to further develop identified skills and abilities. 
  • Complete professional writing (progress reports, newsletters, and portfolios); daily standards-based lesson planning; ongoing assessment (including ASQ, OUNCE, WSS); Daily Sheets, Behavior/Illness/Injury Reports.
  • Oversee/evaluate practicum students.

Education

Associate Degree: in Early Childhood Education (Required)

Bachelor Degree: in Early Childhood Education (Preferred)

Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Experience

General experience in a related teaching role with young children, or completion of teaching practicum (Required) • General experience and knowledge of DHS regulations and PA Early Learning Standards (Required)

License/Certifications

Required within 90 days of hire: Completion of Get Started with Center-based Care: Building Blocks for Quality, Pediatric First Aid CPR and Mandated Reporter Training. Mandated Reporter Training to be maintained every 5 years. Fire Safety Training required within a year of hire.
