Birds Nest Foundation Summer Internship Program

Bird's Nest Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in New York City that specializes in creating videos for other nonprofits. We also focus on educational programs for aspiring filmmakers.

The Summer internship program spans from the first week of June to the first week of August. In those 8 weeks, each intern will work on 4 different projects. The first 3 projects will be focused on a creating a video that is documentary/PSA based. Each intern will take turns directing, DPing (director photography), and editing for the first 3 projects. For the 4th project, each intern will use the skills and techniques they learned from the previous projects to put together and direct a video in whatever genre they choose.

Every week we will have a speaker come in and talk to the interns about their experience in the filmmaking industry. We will also have a screening of different films and documentaries and have a discussions about them.

This internship will require:

  1. Basic knowledge of Filmmaking.
  2. Major or Focus in Filmmaking, Media Studies, or similar degrees.
  3. High passion for Video Production.
  4. Group collaboration.
  5. Organization skills.
  6. Clear communication skills.

Skills (not required but a big plus):

  1. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Apps
  2. Knowledge of using film equipment
