We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join Dunn and Phillips P.C.'s Amherst office. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide support to our team by performing various administrative tasks and assisting with legal research, client outreach, and document preparation. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.

 

Responsibilities:

- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as demand letters, letters of representation, letters of protection, and contingency fee agreements

- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases

- Maintain and organize legal files and documents

- Prepare correspondence and communicate with clients, medical facilities, and various insurance companies

- Complete intakes with clients

- Manage calendars and deadlines for multiple cases

- Assist in the preparation of trial materials and exhibits

- Perform clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, faxing, and filing

 

Experience:

- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role preferred but not required

- Strong clerical skills with attention to detail

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills

- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy

- Knowledge of litigation processes and/or secondary language skills are pluses
