Systems Support and IT Intern - Summer Internship

POSITION: Systems Support/ Information Technology Intern (Temporary, Non-Exempt)

DIRECT REPORT: Director, Systems Support

TIME COMMITMENT: This internship will run from 5/28/2024 through 7/31/2024. Time commitment each week will not exceed 30 (thirty) hours and will be monitored through an electronic time clock. 

COMPENSATION: The total compensation for this internship will not exceed the Colorado minimum wage. A total of $5,157.78 will be paid bi-weekly in equal installments per the Cardinal Group Companies payroll calendar. 

PHYSICAL LOCATION – This internship will be based in Denver, CO. Applicants based in or willing to self-relocate to Denver will be preferred. 

SUMMARY:  The Systems Support Intern is a temporary, limited-term position responsible for providing technical support to all communities in order to manage operations and accounting functions within our management software. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school related to his or her particular areas of interest and apply them in a professional setting. He or she will gain a better understanding of the role that Systems Support can play in the organization, and be better prepared to work in the arena of human resources. This is a paid internship.

 RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to)

  • Supports the Systems Support Team/IT Team
  • Provides administrative support to on-site teams
  • Support team members through help desk ticket requests and tasks
  • Report to the applicable support team member of current responsibilities
  • Performs system efficiency audits
  • Assists with the Annual Lease Term/Lease Edit projects and other assignments as assigned by team leader
  • Daily operation and maintenance of systems
  • Ensure adequate understanding of best practices and procedures

 DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree in Business Systems, IT, Analytics, Technology Management or similar
  • Independent sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Suite preferred
  • Business Intelligence administration experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Express ideas and information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to understand and carry out industry-specific written and oral direction
