Clinical Research Intern

The Depression Clinical and Research Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking two clinical research interns to contribute to two main projects: (1) a study that examines the effect of ketamine and esketamine treatments in reducing depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation; and (2) management of the ketamine clinic database at MGH. The students will have the opportunity to work closely with Harvard Medical School faculty.

The students will learn about methods used to collect clinical data, become familiar with platforms often used in psychological/medical research, help run study visits and assist with scheduling and other administrative tasks under the supervision of the Clinical Research Coordinators and the Principal Investigators. The student will meet weekly with the study team and have the opportunity to attend DCRP meetings where clinical cases are discussed by faculty and trainees.

Strong communication and organizational skills, problem-solving and initiative are essential. Students interested in pursuing careers in clinical psychology or medicine are encouraged to apply. The DCRP values diversity among our members, and we encourage applications from all qualified individuals including all underrepresented minority backgrounds. In their cover letter, applicants are encouraged to describe their commitment to diversity and inclusivity and how they would bring this to working in research.

Time commitment: 15-20 hours per week during the summer starting in June 2024, and 10 hours per week during the Fall 2024 academic year. The position will be hybrid, meaning a mix of remote work and in-person work at our office in downtown Boston. Note: You must be able to obtain course credit for this internship. References will be requested following interviews.

This position will provide invaluable experience for anyone interested in pursuing graduate study in the fields of psychology, public health, or medicine.
