Marketing Intern

Overview of Position

The General Marketing Intern is a seasonal member of the marketing department which consists of the Executive Marketing Director, Multimedia Director, Graphic Designers, Video Editor, Digital Content Specialist, Web and App Specialist, and Marketing Coordinator. 

The General Marketing Intern performs under the general direction of the Multimedia Director and Marketing Coordinator. This role provides a great opportunity to develop skills for working at an advertising agency and within a marketing department.

They may also interact with company leadership and executives and will be expected to present themselves in a professional manner.

The Marketing Intern should be detail oriented and have a sense of urgency in completing his or her tasks. This position may frequently be asked to change tasks with short notice and is expected to function as a part of the Marketing Department.

Description of Duties

The General Marketing Intern will assist the Multimedia Director and Marketing Coordinator with the goal of serving the Kanakuk during summer. This list is not exhaustive or limited to what is listed below: 

  • Support the Marketing Coordinator in facilitation and overseeing Re-Enroll program.
  • Help coordinate with ODLS to ensure Overnight Kamps receive quantities of Spiritual Training Books and all other program collateral items. 
  • Assist in daily photo vetting of Summer Action photos and publish them live.
  • Assist Customer Care to update Kamper information, register Kampers for following summer and other administrative tasks. 
  • Support Digital Marketing intern in daily / weekly tasks for Bunk 1, social media, etc. 
  • Conduct research on a request/project basis.
  • Support Marketing Coordinator in serving Day Kamp and Family Kamp in requested needs. 
  • Oversee and organize all marketing materials that are used and stored in Branson warehouse. 

Qualifications

  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills, and ability to analyze and strategize in projects.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with web based tools.

Other Requirements and Characteristics

  • Ready and confident in learning new programs and systems.
  • Can effectively communicate ideas orally and in writing including outlines, scripts, and story boards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines without heavy oversight.
  • Knowledge of Kanakuk Kamps helpful, not required. 
  • Has a heart to serve.
  • Handles unexpected projects and deadlines with a joyful heart.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work. However, there will be frequent walking within a multi-acre campus, sometimes over unfinished terrain; standing; bending; carrying of light to medium weight items such as papers, books, camera equipment; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
  • At times this job will collate and assemble job components, laminate, package finished product for delivery, operate the paper drill, operate paper cutter, and operate the folder.
