Graduate Intern - Macro Asset Allocation

DoubleLine Group is seeking an intern with strong quantitative background to work with the Macro Asset Allocation investment team. They will play a multi-functional role and will be exposed to a wide range of asset classes including fixed income, equities, FX and commodities. The intern will perform macroeconomic research and work to develop investment strategies. They will also develop frameworks for asset allocation and present analysis to the investment team in a clear and concise manner.

 

Job Functions

  • Support investment team by conducting research on global markets and a variety of asset classes
  • Analyze asset historic returns and valuation, and run back tests and optimizations of trading strategies
  • Build valuation and risk tools across different assets and perform asset allocation and portfolio construction studies
  • Develop and maintain advanced analytical solutions to scrutinize large data sets
  • Prepare reports for internal portfolio management in a timely manner
  • Participate in weekly investment team discussions and ultimately present market analysis

 

Qualifications

  • MBA or MFE candidate with solid academic and professional background
  • Strong interest and preferred prior experience in finance, portfolio optimization, asset allocation techniques, option pricing, and asset pricing
  • Strong research skills with creativity and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong programming skills (e.g. R, MATLAB or Python) and numerical problem solving techniques
  • Strong formal training in Econometrics and solid experience working with large datasets/databases
  • Familiarity with third-party data providers (e.g. Bloomberg and Haver)
  • Ability to present analysis clearly and effectively
  • Strong aptitude for accuracy and detail, team-oriented and must possess strong integrity and professionalism

 

Hourly Rate of Pay: The rate of pay for this position is $30 per hour, with eligibility for overtime pay.
