Leadership Annual Giving Officer

As the Leadership Annual Giving Officer, you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of our university. Your dedication and commitment to identifying, cultivating, and soliciting leadership annual giving prospects will make a significant impact on our community. By engaging with donors through various mediums, you will establish meaningful relationships and help support important university initiatives. You will also have the chance to work on special fundraising projects that will further enhance the university's impact in specific areas as well as work closely with the Office of Estate & Gift Planning to support their lead generation and prospect discovery/qualification processes.. While this is an entry-level position within our advancement team, it is designed to be developmental, providing room for growth and progression within UF Advancement.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of relevant experience and/or a strong understanding of development processes and comprehensive campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a university or nonprofit environment or within PR, advertising, sales, or marketing-related field.

  • General knowledge and comprehension of business/economic environment, and understanding of fundraising principles, methods, and standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience in prospect identification, relationship building, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Ability to work both independently within a broad strategic framework and institutional priorities as well as cohesively and collaboratively as a team with numerous and diverse individuals and groups.
  • Positive and creative manner of approaching issues; problem-solving; strong analytical skills and professional judgment; project management skills; experience in a data-driven environment.
  • Ability to inspire, and generate excitement, shared purpose, and action; excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and oral), while also being a good listener.
  • An appreciation for and support of inclusion in the workplace in all its forms; ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer programs such as Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, TEAMS), various internet browsers, and social media platforms. General knowledge of a donor database, contact management, and tracking systems.
  • Evening/weekend work is required.
  • The ability and willingness to travel. A valid driver license and good driving record are essential.*
