Digital Media Quality Improvement Intern

Project: Digital Media Quality Improvement

Organization: Office of Communications, Commissioner’s Office

As part of the central Office of Communications within the Commissioner’s Office, the intern will be involved in agency-wide health communication topics. The intern will be exposed to Communications team activities, including social media and marketing efforts, media relations, graphic design, and editorial services. They will receive mentorship and professional development opportunities to learn the cycle of health marketing campaigns, website content management, and state agency approval processes. The intern will support the creation and development of health communication materials and quality improvement plans for the Department of Public Health website.

Skills Required: Written and verbal communication skills, experience with website content management systems (Drupal preferred), copy editing, social media content creation, knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook, some exposure to Google Analytics, knowledge of search engine optimization techniques and standards of accessibility for screen readers.
Technology Required: Phone, laptop, Microsoft, Adobe Acrobat Pro
Work Arrangement: Remote / Hybrid
Hours Per Week: 15
Preferred Eligibility: Students in Associates, Bachelors, and or Masters programs
Preferred Academic Experience: Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Social Media, Journalism, Public Health and or related areas of study
