Marketing Sales Intern

Concord Record Sales is the departmental team for all physical and digital sales of Concord Recorded Music to consumer facing retail stores and websites, including accounts such as Amazon, iTunes, Target, Wal-Mart, Amoeba Music and thousands more. We recommend formats, quantities, pricing structures and promotions to help sell music and develop artists’ careers. 

 

As the Marketing Sales Intern, you will be immersed in the entirety of bringing an artist and/or recording to market. You will be involved at the highest levels of planning, production, strategy, marketing and monetization of new and developing artists as well as heritage and catalogue titles. You will shadow executives at planning meetings and implementation of plans at actual accounts. You will view internal budgets, strategies and goals seen by few industry outsiders. You will analyze plans that work and don’t work and will be left with a real time feel for how records break at physical retail.  

 

Our paid internship program will give you a unique opportunity to enhance your professional skillset, increase your knowledge of the industry, and expand your network. Our goal is to help you develop your talents as well as receive dedicated mentorship and support. Our Summer Internship Program will run from Tuesday, June 4th  – Friday, August 16th and allows interns to work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. This internship is a paid in-person opportunity and requires the ability to work in the specified office location. 

Responsibilities

What you'll do: 

  • Track and report on records, social media, etc. 
  • Participate in marketing and sales meetings 
  • Review budgets and strategy plans for upcoming releases 
  • Assist in packaging of promotional materials 
  • Attend promotional events 
  • Upload artwork onto various platforms 
  • Provide insight on gen Z trends in music consumption 
  • Receive mentoring and support from supervisor throughout the semester 
  • Attend weekly educational programming to gain deeper understanding of various Concord departments 

Qualifications

What you'll need :  

  • Strong analytic skillset  
  • This internship is a part-time paid internship and requires someone located in/near Nashville.  
  • The timeline of this internship program runs from Tuesday, June 4th – Friday, August 16th you must be able to work 20 hours/week.
