Accounting Manager

ACCOUNTING MANAGER

David Netto Design LLC, an AD100 & Elle Décor A-List boutique Interior Design firm in Highland Park, Los Angeles, seeks a full-time in-person Accounting Manager. 

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting operations of a small design firm made up of a 6-person team. The candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial & administrative records, preparing financial reports, and implementing financial controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background of experience in accounting for interior design or other creative industries, exceptional attention to detail, proficiency in financial prioritizing and strategizing, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The Accounting Manager should be both nimble and level-headed, a big-picture thinker, and an assured leader keen to direct finances at a growing creative firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
    • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Bookkeeping:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
    • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
    • Maintenance and optimization of accounting system with responsibility for modifying and maintaining financial system reporting, account structure, and mapping.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Generate detailed financial reports, relating to specific projects or beyond, for Principal to review.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Principal, Studio Director and Design Team and provide support, including:
      • drafting client contracts and project budgets, along with mid-project budget reports.
      • creating client/project invoices & purchase orders.
      • maintaining big-picture understanding of all studio projects as relating to deadlines, purchasing, and cash-flow.
      • contributing to weekly design meeting with client payments/invoicing report.
  • Maintain HR and Administrative records.
  • Collaborate with the Principal to drive financial decisions.
  • Liaise with the Assistant to the Principal to strategically manage and delegate the Principal’s personal finances.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Coordinate with external accountants for tax filings.
  • Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
    • Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role.
  • Preferred working experience with an Interior Design firm or other small business in a creative field.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with accounting software Design Manager or a willingness to be a proactive, independent learner to develop proficiency.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Sensitive, discrete, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Hours:

  • Monday-Friday, 9:30AM-6:30PM, in-person

Salary:

  • $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 or commensurate with experience
