IT Infrastructure Intern

Job Scope:

The primary responsibility is to support the IT Infrastructure Services for the company.  The IT Infrastructure Intern will help provide IT Infrastructure coordination, support and operations for the infrastructure specific hardware, software, operating system, and applications residing on the RingCentral IT environment with the sole purpose of ensuring that the IT environment adds value, is cost-effective, reliable, updated, and available to RingCentral businesses and employees.  

 

Responsibilities

Interact with multiple teams within our IT department as well as working along-side infrastructure support teams

The IT Infrastructure Intern will provide analytical support and coordination on IT infrastructure-related tasks and projects

Analyze infrastructure operations activity and recommend and/or generate reporting dashboards on critical metrics

Understand infrastructure technology and work with IT infrastructure teams in coordinating the analysis of competing technologies to determine the best solution for infrastructure services

Working with infrastructure team members, develop a feature comparison report between competing technologies showing pros and cons of each solution

Gain knowledge of IT infrastructure operational processes, identify gaps in documentation and work with infrastructure team members to create needed documentation/knowledge articles

Support the various infrastructure teams in creating troubleshooting steps and checklist to improve consistency in IT infrastructure root cause analysis and improve time to resolution



 

Desired Qualifications:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or other related technical degree

Ability to analyze processes and technologies to provide clear recommendations based on the findings

Ability to follow technical instructions and track completed tasks as related to assigned projects

Intermediate level experience in Google or Microsoft productivity tools (Google Sheet, Doc, Slides, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Strong presentation skills to audiences comprised of all levels of leadership

Ability to work independently and with a team

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills

Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels

Excellent customer service skills

Time management skills required

Flexibility in a shift can allow the opportunity to see a wider range of IT initiatives and projects

 

 

Learning Skills/Outcomes:

Experience with deploying and supporting infrastructure IT cloud services

Working knowledge of company IT key processes and procedures

Ability to learn and use cutting edge UCAAS technologies in a corporate environment

Project Management skills

Process improvement skills

 

Availability:

Full-time [40 hours per week, 10 week internship]

Must be available to start June 11, 2024

Must be available to work on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office per week) in our Belmont, CA, or Denver, CO office

If you are hired in Colorado, California, Nevada, New York, Maryland, Washington, Connecticut, or Rhode Island, the hourly rate of compensation ranges between $28.00 and $30.00 per hour for contract employees. This rate may vary depending on your location, skills, and experience.
