Finance Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensures and promotes the development of staff through coaching, training and
leadership development.
Responsible for recommendations concerning hiring and terminations.
Oversees and prepares the City’s annual operating budget and the City’s annual Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) in a presentation format that meets standards set
by the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards program. Makes presentations to the Board of Aldermen, City Management and staff related to the City’s annual budget and CIP process. Prepares and presents monthly forecasting and budget reports, providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making by senior management. Prepares and tracks budget adjustments, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial decision-making processes. Prepares complex and detailed analysis, calculations, and reports as required for budget and financial reporting functions. Supervises grant administration processes, including application, compliance, and reporting requirements, to maximize funding opportunities and ensure proper utilization of resources. Oversees all property and general liability insurance claims and coordinates with third-party administrator, City Management, and other staff. Develops and implements the City’s Safety Program.Performs other work as assigned.
