Temporary Health Information Representative (BBC)-531860

Job Summary

 

 Department of Health Promotion Services is currently seeking a Temporary Health Information Representative. Job duties include:

  • Provides excellent customer services to students needing assistance with immunization and international insurance holds.
  • Proactively communicates with students on their hold status and provides information on documentation needed for hold removal.
  • Reviews and processes school-sponsored insurance reports and alternative insurance forms for the removal of international student health insurance holds.
  • Assists with reviewing and identifying alternate insurance companies that meet FL BOG and federal State Department guidelines for students on F1and J1 visas.
  • Works with alternate insurance companies as needed, when issues arise with cancellation of coverage.
  • Assists in the development and enforcement of immunization and insurance related procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Works alongside supervisor in enhancing the International Student Health Insurance Compliance program and provides supervisor with Insurance related statistics, as requested.
  • Reviews the immunization and insurance email accounts to ensure quality and timeliness of communication.
  • Provides the manager at the end of the month the total Immunizations and Insurance emails and phone calls completed for the monthly reports.
  • Conducts mass hold removals for other university departments or programs who required the school-sponsored plan, as appropriate international student plans.
  • Reviews school-sponsored insurance dashboard to confirm insurance enrollment with school sponsored plan.
  • Employee will be cross trained in all Immunization policies and procedures, including processing Immunization data PantherSoft to allow student registration.
  • Utilizes the student medical record system (PyraMED and ImageNow) to process immunization holds, as appropriate.
  • Inputs student data into the medical record, runs the FL SHOTS interface, and inputs vaccine records, if necessary. Confirms holds are removed from PantherSoft.
  • Reviews immunization documents submitted by students to ensure adherence with the Florida Board of Governors immunization mandates.
  • Reviews and processes FL SHOTS Consent forms by scanning into the medical record. Reviews the Florida SHOTS database as needed to document immunization compliance.
  • Utilizes established university systems (i.e.-PantherSoft) to process insurance and immunization holds, as appropriate.
  • Collaborates and communicates with applicable offices (e.g., PantherSoft, SHWIT, Student Services, Admissions, International Student and Scholar Services, Orientation) in the design, development and/or refinement of immunization compliance program, and processes and management of the program.
  • Performs outreach to students to ensure that expectations regarding immunization and/or insurance compliance policies and procedures are clearly understood and met. Attends university events (i.e.- Orientation and Concierge), as needed, to provide education and assistance with international insurance and immunization holds.
  • Responsible for destruction of physical documents once processed into ImageNow, PantherSoft, and/or the electronic medical record system.
  • Runs queries, prepares, and processes immunization and insurance pre-requisite orientation lists as assigned.
  • Runs and reviews admissions opt-in query to identify students who consent to access immunization records. Assists with data collection on student satisfaction and conduction of health insurance surveys as assigned.
  • Assists with compiling monthly report data for HC unit to include call center data, immunization waiver data, medical exemptions, number of pages scanned, and number of insurance plans processed.

Minimum Qualifications

 

High school diploma or GED required and two (2) years' experience in a healthcare setting; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

  • 40 hours a week

$18.00/hour
