PAY AND BENEFITS

 

Annual Pay Range: $91,537.25 - $116,175.14

 

Hourly Pay Range: $44.008292 - $55.853432

 

Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

The Clackamas County Public Health Division (CCPHD) is seeking a three-year limited-term Occupational Health & Immunization Nurse to coordinate occupational health services for the Public Health Division and the Health Centers Division (a Federally Qualified Health Center). The position will work across divisions to ensure compliance with occupational health regulations and is responsible for screening for and coordinating occupational health needs for Public Health (PH) and Health Centers (HC) employees. Additionally, this position will work with the immunization team within Public Health to lead the clinical aspects of community immunization services. This position reports to the Health Officer for Clackamas County Public Health Division.

 

Successful applicants will possess experience in exploring innovative solutions to solve complex problems and the ability to address issues through a combination of tools. Additionally, successful applicants will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, experience completing work assignments accurately and in a timely manner, be detailed oriented, and be a highly effective communicator.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

 

• Possession of a license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of Oregon.

• Must possess and maintain an active BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by an instructor/training center accredited by the Red Cross, American Heart Association or the Health and Safety Institute.

• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant nursing experience such as public health, infectious disease, primary care, occupational health or immunizations for community-based organizations, non-profits, healthcare providers, health departments, or governmental agencies.

• Must have strong computer, research, and organizational skills to ensure they remain up to date with new developments, best practices, and standards of care within the field of infection prevention, employee health, and immunization practices.

• Experience compiling and verifying information and data.

• Knowledge of HIPAA and other health related confidentiality laws.

• Experience researching and implementing evidence-based practice in a rapidly changing environment.

TYPICAL TASKS

 

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

 

• Screening incoming Public Health and Health Centers employees for occupational health needs; tracking and coordinating of follow up needs and services due as indicated. Responsible for all new employee processes regarding vaccination and respirator evaluations per division policies.

• Review and assist in completing health records and ensuring HIPAA compliance.

• Maintain database of all staff occupational health history including dates of services and services due, ensure updated record keeping to satisfy compliance requirements using PeopleSoft Health Card software.

• Coordinate respirator fit testing as indicated for all designated employees across HC and PH worksites; may coordinate provision of occupational health services w/ contracted occupational health services vendor.

• Responsible for policies and procedures within the PH division related to infection control and employee health, and advise on HC division policies.

• Participate in performance improvements and continuous quality improvement activities.

• Manage employee blood borne pathogen exposures and disease outbreaks.

• Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical clinical and business practices.

• Advise immunization team with consultation from the Health Officer on clinical aspects of the Immunization Program.

• Develop standing orders, train nurses on forecasting and administering vaccinations, and utilizing electronic health records and Alert IIS.

• Responsible for policies and procedures within the organization related to community immunization programs.

• Provide clinical immunization services at community clinics.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

 

This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday.


 

• Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.

• Must have the ability to travel between health clinics.

 

The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington. Washington residents must perform 50% of their time on-site at Clackamas County.
