R Programming internship at San Diego Biotech Company

Hybrid position:
3 days a week in office, 2 days remote

R programmer intern

Responsibilities:

Acadia is seeking an R Programmer Intern to join our Biometrics team for a full-time summer internship. The primary project involves working on R-based projects, developing programming deliverables, interactive dashboards, and visualizations. 


The main project for the summer internship involves the development of a user-friendly dashboard for study data visualization. The intern will focus on creating an intuitive interface that allows users to easily select a study, specify the type of data, and explore diverse built-in views using graphics or tables. Additionally, the intern will be tasked with incorporating advanced features such as subgroup selection, hover-over functionality, and drill-down options to enhance the overall interactivity and functionality of the dashboard. This project aims to provide a comprehensive and visually engaging tool for effective study data analysis within our team.

Minimum Qualifications + Skills:
 

  1. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Biology, Clinical Research, etc.). 
  2. Active student in good standing at an accredited university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 
  3. Proficient in R Programming using Rstudio Workbench, Rstudio Connect, Package Manager, and relevant packages (e.g., ggplot2, DT, Huxtable, Kable tidyverse, Flexdashboard, Shiny). 
  4. Knowledge of statistics is a plus.  
  5. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and deliver results within established timelines. 
  6. Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team. 
  7. Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, essential in this collaborative work environment.
