Education Institute Outcomes Intern

We are recruiting an intern to join our team in the HSS Education Institute to assist in the evaluation of community education programs.

The HSS Community Education & Outreach Department within the Education Institute provides programs for patients and the community on prevention, treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions and other health conditions. The internship is designed to give the student an opportunity to learn about evaluating the impact of public health programs. The intern will report to the Manager, Outcomes & Data Analytics and work closely with other department staff. This internship will give students the opportunity to develop skills in data management and program evaluation. 

As a result of this internship, the student will:

  • Support evaluation of Community Education & Outreach programs, including survey data entry and literature reviews
  • Conduct qualitative data collection activities, including phone interviews and focus groups
  • Support the development and implementation of the Community Health Needs Assessment
  • Support outcomes and data analytics initiatives with the Education Institute
  • Support ad-hoc requests as needed
  • Adhere to Hospital standards and procedures, such as dress code and patient confidentiality & privacy

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student interested in public health or social sciences
  • Experience with MS Excel is required
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, STATA) is preferred
  • Access to a working computer, internet, and phone required
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, written and verbal communications
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment


This position remote with 15-20 required hours per week (within M-F 9am-5pm). A stipend is available for students based on hours.
