Community Healthcare Data Analysis Intern

Paid Internship Position: Community Healthcare Data Analysis Intern (Summer)

Position Overview:

Tower Surgical Partners and Visionary Gyn Care invite applications for a summer internship focused on Community Health Assessment. This three-month paid position is designed for current students or recent graduates with a strong interest in healthcare data analysis, particularly in the context of community health. Interns will contribute to the National Gyn Surgical Specialist (NGSS) website project, aimed at improving patient access to specialized care for conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, and pelvic pain.

 

Project Background:

In response to the growing demand for specialized surgical care, the NGSS platform aims to differentiate true specialists from general practitioners, enhancing patient navigation and care outcomes. Interns will play a crucial role in this transformative project by conducting comprehensive community health assessments to inform the development of the NGSS database.

 

Internship Role and Responsibilities

 

Interns will join a dynamic team to:

  • Perform detailed market and community health analyses across the top 50 US markets to identify and document specialist providers.
  • Collect and analyze data on practice locations, provider qualifications, patient demographics, and health outcomes.
  • Utilize advanced data analysis tools and software to manage and interpret healthcare data.
  • Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient engagement, analytics, and referral patterns.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Current or recently graduated students interested in healthcare, data analysis, community health, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to work with diverse data sets and software.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems, medical terminology, and HIPAA guidelines is preferred.

 

Education & Experience

  • Background in public health, healthcare administration, data analysis, or a related field is beneficial.
