Director of Educational Services and Materials Review (JR-0000650)

Responsibilities
The Director of Educational Services and Materials Review will provide direction to an array of exciting statewide professional training and capacity building initiatives for health and human services providers, peer workers and consumer leaders addressing HIV, sexual health, health equity, LGBT health and drug user health. The Director will direct and manage AIDS Institute activities in support of peer certification and expanding access to vocational rehabilitation and employment opportunities for people living with HIV. The incumbent will direct the development of public health campaigns, social media messaging and consumer education materials regarding HIV, sexual health, health equity, LGBT health and drug user health. Managing a team of approximately 10-12 staff, this position will provide leadership regarding policy direction, resource allocation and evaluation of AIDS Institute training, capacity building and consumer education initiatives.


Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in a related field and six years of experience in the direction and/or management of a public health program, health/human services program, health regulatory program or community-based services program/organization; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and eight years of such experience; OR ten years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. The years of experience must have included policy formulation, program planning, design, implementation, evaluation and/or allocation of resources. At least four years of experience must have included supervision of staff and program management.

 

Preferred Qualifications

A Master’s degree in public health, education or social work with at least six years of experience managing statewide or larger regional professional training and capacity building programs in the field of HIV, HCV, sexual health or drug user health.  At least six years of experience overseeing development of training curriculum. At least six years of experience managing consumer education campaigns, including large scale public health campaigns on HIV, HCV, sexual health, or drug user health. At least three years of experience managing grants received from a federal agency. 

 

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. 

Travel, up to 25%, will be required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
