2024 - 2025 Evening Principal at DORS

THE ROLE

As the DORS Evening Principal, you will lead our night campus of our adult student population by planning, directing, and coordinating the academic administration of instructional and support staff to ensure the best possible opportunities for student growth and development.

*The hours for this position are: Monday - Thursday: 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm*

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the night campus: support the team and create a welcoming environment for students
  • Collaborate with the principals of the other DORS campuses on program impacting decisions
  • Serve as the instructional leader of the campus, providing instructional staff with ongoing feedback, professional development and conducting formal observations
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to maintain curriculum standards and set performance goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with support staff on socioemotional supports, academic counseling, and college and career prep supports to support performance goals and objectives
  • Support other DORS campuses from 12-4 for various school-wide needs, coverage for day principals, etc.
  • Ensure the team is keeping accurate and up to date records
  • Act as a bridge between the full time DORS locations and the part time evening location to ensure consistency and that codified processes are being followed with fidelity
  • Collaborate with CEO, CAO, and other DORS leaders to develop annual budget needs
  • Plan and conduct staff meetings as necessary, utilizing effective communication so staff is equipped with information needed
  • Recommend and implement changes which will lead to improved administration, supervision and opportunity for student development, with a lens on continuous process improvement
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local laws
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate instructional staff
  • Participate in Network and Board meetings
  • Other duties assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A strong belief in the Mission of Christel House Indianapolis and a desire to provide our students with a world class education
  • Actively support and participate in the network’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging
  • Demonstrated success incorporating culturally-competent strategies and utilizing culturally-responsive communication and engagement strategies with all members of the school community
  • Detail oriented, strategic thinker
  • Master’s degree in education
  • Indiana Administrators License (preferred)
  • 4+ years’ teaching or administration experience
  • Demonstrates cultural competency and the ability to effectively coach across race, ethnicity, gender, class, etc.
  • Models transformational leadership and demonstrates awareness of how he/she is perceived by others
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
