Associate, Northern Latin America

McLarty Associates is seeking a bright, resourceful, highly organized individual to serve as a full-time associate to support the firm’s Northern Latin America practice. We are seeking an individual for a June start. This position is based in Washington, D.C. and the associate will be expected to work in-person at least three days a week.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • providing administrative support to the Northern Latin America practice director (coordinating and maintaining schedules, completing expense reports, event planning, making travel arrangements, etc.);
  • conducting extensive research and analysis of economic, political, security, trade, technology, public policy, and business issues;
  • writing memos, compiling biographies, and preparing presentations for the firm and clients;
  • assisting with business development efforts by drafting corporate profiles and business proposals;
  • monitoring regional news outlets;
  • attending and reporting on speeches, panel discussions, and policy forums of interest to the firm and clients;
  • assisting with intern hiring and supervision;
  • other duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates for this position possess an understanding of the economic, cultural, business, and political dynamics in Latin America. Applicants should have a robust background, demonstrated interest, and/or experience living or studying in Latin America. The associate must have complete fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English and Spanish. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
