This position is in Office of Land and Emergency Management (OLEM), Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery (ORCR), Materials Recovery and Waste Management Division (MRWMD). About Office of Land and Emergency Management (OLEM): OLEM

This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

Duties

 

At the entry level of this position, you will:

  • Prepare or review permits (issuance, reissuance, and modification) for routine treatment, storage and disposal facilities or sources.
  • Provide technical support to state, local or tribal agencies regarding well-defined technical and scientific criteria and methods; pollution control requirements; and impacts of pollutants.
  • Resolve issues related to permit requirements and participate in the defense of permits against legal challenges with Office of Regional Counsel (ORC);
  • Respond to permit inquiries.
